Our mission is to share with everyone the benefits of developing, owning, and renting garage apartments.  We believe that garage apartments help society by increasing a sense of community, providing alternative housing options, and creating income for homeowners.

GarageApartments.com is a free user-driven database of garage apartment properties.

History

The idea for GarageApartments.com was stumbled upon by Adam Parish in November of 2001 while trying to find a place to rent.  Upon Adam's graduation from college in 1998, he moved into a typical apartment complex in Orlando, Florida.  After several years of living in apartment complexes, but not quite ready to purchase a home, he noticed the abundance of garage apartments behind the homes in Celebration, Florida. 

Drawn to the appealing aspects of living in a real residential community, he immediately started searching for garage apartment information on the Internet.  However, the Internet returned very little useful information, and eventually Adam found a garage apartment listing on a wall in the Celebration Town Hall.

After living in a garage apartment for a short time, Adam soon realized that garage apartments had a great future just as they had been popular in the past in traditional neighborhoods and college towns.  With a resurgence of New Urbanism and high tech small towns, the number of garage apartments is on the increase.

With this increase, GarageApartments.com is helping people locate their garage apartment and connect with a community without having to search the walls in town halls or university centers.  As communities with garage apartments sprout up people now have the ability to rent from a community instead of corporations.
